Sweet video, G.L. Looks like your ranch to me! I think Bill Gholson in English and Writing lives out there. You should pick his brain about life on Humbug Creek.

Takau goes Amazon

We have a Kindle edition of Island Gardens of Takau in the pipeline. It takes Amazon.com some weeks to get it posted "live." I'll announce it with shouts and hand-waving, of course. It will be very interesting to backlist novel authors as to whether a Kindle edition attracts attention and/or affects print sales.

As we stroll the gardens, I'll ruminate on book reviewers. Only non-fiction reviewers are coming to mind right now, so I'll need to think about this.

Imagine Takau on YouTube

Getting Takau on YouTube may be a bit of a challenge. It's one of those places where officials wave their hands in front of your camera if you try to take a picture at the port, you might say. But perhaps we can get some garden shots accompanied by audio descriptions from the novel? Imagine a vid (ie booktrailer) going viral about getting to Takau. I'd love to hear your suggestions/brainstorms on this!

Welcome! Shall we take a stroll through the gardens? Thanks for joining. Do you know any book reviewers that might be interested in the novel?

Getting it together with Amazon.com

Authors should be familiar with basic Amazon.com affiliate skills. Selling direct on the online stores depends on your arrangement with your publisher, of course. If you are self-publishing, you'll need to become an expert in this arena.I've placed an example on the home page of this site, a vanilla Amazon.com affiliate link. The key to it is to have your affiliate code built into the HTML snippet…See More

Facebook Group

There is much to discuss regarding whether Facebook groups or Fan pages work best for authors, depending on the nature of their books and the target audiences. Generally, a fan page, by which an author can regularly update a follower base, is probably most effective. Also, a fan page can pick up your blog. However, for search engine food, to pick up a wider Facebook audience, and just for fun, I've created a group in support of Takau, too. See…See More
